Mycological peptone is a mixture of peptones from plants and animal’s origin that provides a nutritive source of amino acids and nitrogen compounds for the growth of fungi and yeasts. It is used for the isolation and diagnosis of pathogenic and non-pathogenic fungi.
This peptone supports abundant growth with typical morphology and pigmentation. It can be used as a main nitrogen source in a wide variety of culture media (Potato Dextrose Agar and Broth, Saboraud Dextrose Agar, Wort Agar and broth and others) for food industries (meat industry, dairy products, bakery, processed foods), cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in research and development.
